Check out the
Little Rock Parks & Recreation website complete with activity guide for
the parks and fitness centers in Little Rock. You can see the
City's dedication to provide access to outdoor recreation by the
Arkansas River Trail that will offer 24 miles of hiking and biking trail
which will run from downtown Little Rock out to Pinnacle Mountain Park and
from North Little Rock to Cook's Landing.
Burns Park in North Little Rock is one of the biggest municipal parks in
the country. Besides lots of natural acreage for picnics and play
areas, organized sports such as tennis, soccer and softball, Burns Park
boasts the only covered bridge in Arkansas. The 2 Rivers Park is a
wonderful recreational facility being developed in west Pulaski County.
Check out the Garden of Trees Project webpage with directions:
www.co.pulaski.ar.us/gardenoftrees.html . By far one of the most
accessible State Parks is Pinnacle Mountain State Park, just west of Little
Rock. Photos and virtual tours available on their website:
